Mattel’s classic toy line and cartoon franchise Masters of the Universe is getting ready to celebrate its 30th Anniversary, and as a means of celebrating the franchise’s 3rd decade, Classic Media has signed a new host of consumer products partners who will help kick off the celebrations with brand-spanking new merchandise and media based on Prince Adam and the denizens of Eternia.
The list of new partners include New Era Cap Co., Funko, Skinit, Icon Heroes, PopFun, Mixo, and even DC Entertainment. They will join the list of previously announced partners such as Mill Creek, Changes, and Disguise. The new batch of Masters of the Universe Merch is scheduled to hit retail in time with the brand’s 30th anniversary this fall.
Mattel will use the San Diego Comic-Con in July to highlight some of the updated sculpts of the Mattel toyline, which is going to launch all throughout the year. The even will allow fans to sign up for annual subscriptions to the toys, but those who are unable to attend the con can still get the toys from mattycollector.com. There will also be collector community-targeted “FAN-atic” events at San Diego and the New York Comic-Con.
