Miffy Coming to Germany
German brand management and media company m4e AG has recently announced their appointment as rights holder of the classic property Miffy, covering German-speaking territories. M4e has secured the rights from the property’s licensor and owner Mercis bv, and plans to help establish the brand in German-speaking markets.
“We have made the strategic decision to position this classic brand in Germany into more of a lifestyle and infant/toddler brand,” explained Jo Daris, Head of Operations at m4e.
For the uninitiated, Miffy focuses on the adventures of the titular white bunny-rabbit. The property was created by Dutch author and illustrator Dick Bruna in 1955, and has since built a loyal worldwide following with more than 85 million books translated in more than 50 languages all over the globe. Miffy also has several TV series, specials, and merchandise line under its belt.
