The full length animated feature film Miffy the Movie has recently won Best Dutch Children’s film at this year’s Cinekid Festival in Amsterdam, with the Hans Perk-directed movie being rewarded with a trophy and a €7,500 prize money.

Written by Fine Trossel and James Still, Miffy the Movie is a big screen adaptation of the long-running stop-motion series, which in turn is based on Dick Bruna’s best selling line of Children’s books.

The Cinekid award is just one of Miffy the Movie’s great success to date, as it also won a Golden Film Award for more than 100k visitors earlier this year, managing a total of 175k admissions in the Netherlands and grossed around 1.2 million euros at the box office.
