Mobile Suit Gundam AGE takes the fight online and to PSP
Mobile Suit Gundam AGE, the latest series in the Gundam franchise premiered Sunday afternoon in Japan, but Bandai Namco, and co-creator Level-5 have much more in store. The series is receiving a free simulcast online with English, Chinese, and Korean languages supported. The series will be uploaded onto Sunrise’s (Gundam’s production studio) official Mobile Suit Gundam portal, Gundam.info while the episode is being broadcast in Japan. That is if you’re in the “limited areas” of South Asia, South East Asia, and Australia. If you are, you’ll find the first episode streaming after the jump.
Mobile Suit Gundam AGE is a part of Gundam’s 30th anniversary celebration, culminating in the form of the yet-to-be-released remake series Gundam Origins, the direct to video series, Gundam Unicorn, and this TV series. AGE in particular follows the story of three generations of Gundam pilots in the same family, and showcases how bounds do go beyond time!
But Gundam AGE’s co-producer is Level-5. Level-5 is a video game company known for creating the likes of Professor Layton, Inazuma Eleven, and The Little Battlers eXperience. So obviously there’s going to be a game involved, right? Right. During the premiere of Gundam AGE, the first video game based on the series was announced for PSP. The official site says title is set for release Summer 2012 in Japan, and promises to deliver the story of Gundam AGE’s cross generational storyline. Here’s a promo for the video game:
No release for either the anime series, or the video game have been announced for North America, but be sure to keep your eyes locked on ToonBarn for news on when they do!
