The upcoming Rooster Teeth Animation Festival will be playing host to the visually arresting adaptation of French graphic novel Lastman, along with the fourth season of the popular series Deep Space 69. The festival will be held in RTX Austin, and will also be playing host to the special screening of Adult Swim’s new animated comedy series Apollo Gauntlet. All of the aforementioned series are from MONDO’s studio Six Point Harness.
“RTX is an incredibly exciting event, and their first-ever Animation Festival in 2016 proved to be so popular that it’s a perfect setting for us to show off our newest projects to an incredible group of fans,” said Brendan Burch, MONDO’s chief creative officer and president of Six Point Harness.
For the uninitiated, Lastman focuses on a mix of martial arts, action, drama, and the supernatural in order to provide a unique brand of adventure. The series originally aired in France on France4, but has been translated through multinational creative effort. Deep Space 69, on the other hand, is an intergalactic tale that is spiced up by adult humor so effectively that it has managed to attract more than 50 million online views spread throughout three seasons on Youtube.
The hour-long MONDO Panel on Rooster Teeth Animation Festival will also include a panel discussion with Apollo Gauntlet series creator Myles Langlois, along with MONDO’s head of development Wendy Willis, creative director Greg Franklin, and lead editor Tony Christopherson.
Adult Swim’s screening and panel discussion featuring Apollo Gauntlet will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 8, on the Center Stage of the Austin Convention Center.
