Monsters University Launches a New Website

Pixar’s much-awaited prequel to Monsters, Inc., Monsters University, has just launched a new tie-in website at, and instead of the usual promotional website with various marketing assets, the new website is presented as an actual educational institution, featuring student testimonials, alumni news, admissions info, and other types of content you would expect from a real college website.

The approach is unorthodox, but it seems to work better as it helps build the fictional world of Monsters University instead of going for a hardsell, there’s also the fact that it manages to avoid providing unnecessary spoilers. If you’re going to check out the site, be prepared to lose track of time.

Monsters University follows series protagonists Mike and Sulley during their college days, way before they became Monstropolis top scare duo. It is scheduled to open in the US on June 21, 2013. UK viewers will get their chance a little later at July 12, 2013.
