Moviehouse entertainment is presenting the animated feature The Hero of Color City at this week’s Cannes market, as per a report from The Hollywood Reporter. The film will be directed by ASIFA-Hollywood president Frank Gladstone, and produced by Max Howard (Igor) and John D. Eraklis, who is the founder and CEO of Exodus.
Hero of Color City is targeted towards preschoolers and focuses on the adventures of a group of crayons, which are trying to protect their multicolored world against a terrible monster. The film features a star-studded voice cast that includes Christina Ricci (Mermaids), Rosie Perez (Do The Right Thing) and Craig Ferguson (How To Train Your Dragon.)
The deal was facilitated by Toonz Entertainment’s COO, P. Jayakumar and Mark Vennis, co-managing director of Moviehouse Entertainment. Magnolia Pictures has penciled in the release of the film in North America as summer of 2014. The pic is co-financed by Toonz Entertainment.
