Nelvana and Sony Partner for Hotel Transylvania TV Series

Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana has been commissioned by Sony Pictures Animation for a new animated TV series based on their upcoming blockbuster CG feature, Hotel Transylvania. The series is set to launch in 2017 and will be developed by Nelvana’s studio in Toronto.

The new series will no doubt ride the momentum of the second feature installment of the franchise, which arrives in theaters on September 25, 2015 and will see Dracula and crew try to bring out the vampire side of his half-human grandson, Dennis.

According to initial reports, the Hotel Transylvania TV series will focus on the teen years of Dracula’s daughter, Mavis, and her friends as they go on exciting new adventures. Distribution will be handled by Sony Pictures Television for the US and by Nelvana Enterprises overseas. There are also plans for toys, games, and books, with licensing to be handled by Sony Pictures Animation in the US.
