Netflix Castlevania 2nd Season Ordered Upon Debut

The animated adaptation of Konami’s iconic videogame series Castlevania has only debuted on Netflix, but the streaming service has already shown confidence in its success via an order of a new batch of episodes from producers Frederator Studios, under the WOW! Unlimited Media Umbrella.

For the uninitiated, the series s based on the classic action horror game franchise from Konami and written by best-selling author and comic book scribe Warren Ellis. The Netflix Castlevania series follows the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan as he tries to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hands of Dracula himself, Vlad Tepes.

“Castlevania has been a world icon for 30 years. WOW! and Frederator are honored to have the privilege of bringing it to life as an entertainment series that will continue its story for years to come,” commented Fred Seibert, Chief Creative Officer of WOW! Unlimited Media and CEO of Frederator Networks & Frederator Studios.
