Netflix Japan Releases New Clip for Ultraman CG Anime


Netflix Japan has just unveiled a new excerpt from their upcoming 3DCG anime reimagining of ULTRAMAN. Fans will remember the franchise as Tsuburaya Productions’ iconic live action superhero series featuring giant rubber-suited heroes, which get into city-destroying brawls against giant monsters.

As the video clip shows, there is a marked improvement in quality as the ULTRAMAN series is no longer hindered by the need for rubber costumes and stunt editing. The video clip features a stunning transformation sequence, as well as a brief look at what fans can expect with regard to the hand-to-hand combat. You can watch it below:

ULTRAMAN is directed by Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki, with animation production handled by Production IG and SOLA DIGITAL ARTS. The series will debut on Netflix’s streaming service worldwide on April 1, 2019.
