Netflix’s The Hollow returns for second season in 2020

The Twitter account for last summer’s sleeper animated hit The Hollow has announced that a second season of the series will be due out in 2020. Produced by Vancouver’s Slap Happy Cartoons, the first 10-episode launched on June 8, 2018. It told the story of a group of three teens who awake in a room, not remembering who they are as they explore an ever mysterious world.

The streaming giant quietly renewed the Canadian series last fall. The first season starred Adrian Petriw, Ashleigh Ball, Connor Parnall and Mark Hildreth. The Hollow was created by Slap Happy’s founders, with one of the founders, Vito Viscomi, responsible for all ten scripts in the first season.

While details on the new episodes are scarce, Petriw teased that if fans thought the first 10 episodes were crazy, then they should “hold on to your Ichibos.”
