This coming Monday, May 8, PBS KIDS will be giving preschoolers a treat as they premiere a new one hour special from the Emmy-nominated preschool series Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. Titled “Tiger Family Trip,” the new special is specifically produced for the summer vacation season and will focus on Daniel as he goes on his first big road trip in order to visit Grandpere. With the help and guidance of Mom Tiger, Daniel goes out of his way to experience new sights and activities, while also learning about the many exciting things he can do on a family trip.
“We’re thrilled families across the country will be able to join us on ‘Tiger Family Trip’ as Daniel deals with new and exciting experiences,” said Lesli Rotenberg, SVP and General Manager, Children’s Media and Education, PBS. “As research continues to show the positive effects Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood has on children’s social and emotional learning, we hope this one-hour special will offer helpful road trip strategies for families on the go.”
The broadcast schedule for Tiger Family Trip will have the special airing on repeat throughout the week of May 8 on PBS KIDS and the PBS KIDS 24/7 channel and live stream. It will also be made available on pbskids.org and the PBS KIDS Video App. The premiere will also coincide with the launch of new related content in the Daniel Tiger for Parents app, books, music collection, and DVD from PBS Distribution.
