New Qualcomm Snapdragon Promo Vid Features CG Dragon

Qualcomm has recently collaborated with Ogilvy & Mather LA and Framestore’s New York studio in order to produce a new Snapdragon promo video titled “Unsung Hero,” which serves as the follow-up to last year’s video, “Coming Soon.”

The Unsung Hero video serves as half of two 60 second spots shot in Vancouver that will feature a CG dragon (representing the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips). The spot marks Qualcomm’s largest advertising productions so far, with Framestore’s directing duo David Mellor and Murray Butler working closely with the Ogilvy team to hone the creative and showcase Snapdragon’s personality in cool ways.

“Our hero is more front and center in this spot,” said Mellor. “The brief was to develop his character by showing how he helps people in everyday life. We had all sorts of scenarios but at the end of the day we wanted to stay true to what a high speed four-inch fire-breathing dragon could really do. The scenes of flying kites and cooking marshmallows have a simplicity to them which underlined the narration, while also telling a visually exciting story.”
