Nickelodeon has recently launched a new comedy-driven animated shorts initiative, which will help expand the studio’s animated comedy development slate, as well as give new talents an opportunity to break through the industry.
With the new initiative, Nickelodeon will solicit ideas from outside and in-house talents, including artists, designers, writers, and even directors. In certain cases, select comedians will work with said creatives on new shorts.
Those who want to participate in the new animated shorts initiative can find out more at www.nickshortspitches.com. Interested parties should keep in mind that Nickelodeon is only loking for funny, original, and character-driven (featuring one or two main characters) shorts. The animation techniques can be either 2D, digital 2D, stop motion, CG, or even mixed media. The deadline for entries is March 30 at 6p, PT. The shorts, should they be accepted, will be developed and produced at the Nickelodeon Animation Studios in Burbank, California.
