Nickelodeon and SIlvergate Media have jointly announced that a second season of the hit animated CG series Peter Rabbit has just been greenlit. The new season consists of 26 episodes and 2 half hour specials.
Peter Rabbit is based on the characters created by Beatrix Potter in her classic series of children’s books titled The Tales of Peter Rabbit. The series launched on Nick last December 2012, and has since garnered a lot of fan following.
A brand-new episode of Peter Rabbit, “The Tale of the Giant Pumpkin/The Tale of the Fierce Bad Rabbit,” will debut on Friday, Oct. 25, at 1:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon. “The Tale of the Giant Pumpkin has Peter setting his sights on the biggest pumpkin in Mr. McGregor’s patch, only to realize that rolling it out of the garden is much more difficult than he expected. “The Tale of the Fierce Bad Rabbit,” on the other hand, has Peter and company going out of their way to taste the sweetest dandelions in the world, only to find out that it’s being protected by the meanest Rabbit in the entire valley.
The Second season of Peter Rabbit will continue to focus on the lovable adventures of the mischievous rabbit, as well as his friends Benjamin Bunny and Lily Bobtail, inclduing many of the iconic Beatrix Potter characters such as Squirrel Nutkin, Jeremy Fisher and Mr. Tod. Season 2 will also see the addition of several new characters, as well as an expansion of the animated world that Peter and his friends will explore.
