Nickelodeon Launches Shimmer and Shine in August
On Monday, August 24 at 7:30 PM ET/PT, Nickelodeon will be launching a brand new animated series titled Shimmer and Shine via their Nick and Nick Jr. channels. The series consists of 20 episodes and will focus on twin genies in training, Shimmer and Shine, who grant all sorts of wishes for their friend Leah. Unfortunately for the trio, the wishes frequently lead to all sorts of mishaps that they have to fix.
Targeted towards preschoolers, Shimmer and Shine showcases a social-emotional curriculum that highlights the importance of teamwork, resourcefulness, and perseverance. The series is a brainchild of Farnaz Esnaashari-Charmatz post-production supervisor for Dora the Explorer, Go, Diego, Go!) and produced at Nickelodeon Animation Studios in Burbank, Calif. Following its U.S. launch, Shimmer and Shine will debut on Nickelodeon’s international channels beginning this fall.
