Nintendo Confirms Timeline of The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes

One of the more interesting quirks of Nintendo’s Legend of Zelda franchise is the fact that all the Links featured in the games are different persons (except in cases of direct sequels, where the Link is carried over to the next game.) existing in different timelines. The chronology is therefore one of the most discussed topics among fans, and a frequent subject of debate.

Nintendo has officially addressed all the questions about where everything fits as far as timelines are concerned via the Hyrule Historia book, but fans will be fans and will always find something to disagree with each other about. Enter the latest installment, The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes, which adds yet another batch of Links to the equation. Nintendo jumped the gun early and tweeted that Tri Force Heroes’ co-op game is set “several years” after A Link Between Worlds and stars the very same hero.
