NYCC Interview: Harmony Gold’s Kevin McKeever for ROBOTECH

Robotech Fans who attended the Robotech Industry Panel at the 2012 New York Comic-Con were given a brief rundown of all the current happenings at Harmony Gold and the associated licencees of Robotech Products.

Harmony Gold’s VP Of Marketing, Kevin McKeever, hosted the Robotech Panel and gave out Robotech prizes to fans who asked interesting questions during the Q & A portion of the panel.

A quick rundown of what is currently available and happening with Robotech:

The original Robotech anime series from 1985 is now available in a complete DVD set from A&E Entertainment. You can get it at Amazon by going here.

The live-action Robotech movie in development now with Warner Bros. and Tobey Maguire’s production company is still in the script-writing stage. Tobey Maguire is only a Producer, and will not be appearing in the film.

New toys include a new prototype battlepod he showed photos of, and a Shadow Beta Fighter in both a standard version and one that transforms into a mecha with a synchro cannon attachment.

Jack McKinney novelizations are available now in e-book format from several e-book services.

I am a Big Fan of all types of animation. Like a lot of things, the cream always rises to the top. My favorites have included Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Rebels, anything Pixar, Phineas and Ferb, Voltron Legendary Defender, and the DC/WB Animated Films. I have a lot of Old School favorites as well, such as Star Blazers, Voltron, Looney Toons, Tom & Jerry, and Scooby Doo.
