Oscar Nominated shorts hit theaters February 10th

Every year, the academy nominates a number of animated shorts for best animated short of the year. Animation Magazine reports that, on February 10th, these shorts will have a limited release in 200 theaters across the United States and Canada, giving people the chance to see what’s up for the Oscar. Documentary and live-action shorts will be getting the same treatment. Collectively, the three categories have grown in popularity and ticket sales by 800% since 2005.

For those of you who aren’t near one of the few theaters playing the shorts, check out iTunes on February 21st, or your local cable/Satelite company, as they’ll also be available through Movies-On-Demand.
