Paperman Snags Best Short Animated Film Oscar
This doesn’t come as a surprise to anyone who’s seen the short, but the completely adorable Pixar short Paperman recently took home the Best Short Film (Animated) Academy Award. In case you haven’t seen the short yet, it focuses on a man who wants to make a connection with the woman he sees through a window across his office. He eventually makes the connection in a very creative way. In case that description doesn’t do it any justice, you can just go ahead and watch the short below:
The other animated shorts that Paperman managed to beat include Fresh Guacamole, Adam and Dog, Head Over Heels and Maggie Simpson in “The Longest Daycare.”
When it comes to feature-length animated awards, another Disney project, Brave, managed to take home the big prize, beating out Frankenweenie, ParaNorma, The Pirates! Band of Misfits and Wreck-It-Ralph. In the spirit of good-natured, tongue-in-cheek humor, Nintendo of America tweeted a picture of Bowser stating his displeasure at Brave taking the prize from fellow bad guy Wreck-It Ralph.
