Paramount and Hasbro Sign a 5 Year Film Deal

If films based on popular toy brands are your cup of tea, then you will be glad to know that Paramount Pictures has recently signed a 5-year film deal with global toy and licensing company Hasbro. The deal will see Hasbro’s new Allspark Animation and Allspark Pictures (My Little Pony: The Movie) play a more actve role in both the development and delivery of new live-action and animated titles based on popular Hasbro brands. The partnership also extends to TV collaborations.

The agreement between Hasbro and Paramount Pictures is not unprecedented, as the two companies have already collaborated on numerous projects in the past, with the most notable being the five blockbuster Transformer movies and the two G.I. Joe live action films. They also have an upcoming Transformers spin-off, titled Bumblebee, due in December 2018.

“Paramount has been a valuable partner of Hasbro’s for more than a decade, and we’re looking forward to taking our relationship to the next level,” said Brian Goldner, Chairman and CEO, Hasbro. “Storytelling, in its many forms, is revolutionizing our business and differentiating Hasbro in all sectors where we operate. We look forward to collaborating with the talented team at Paramount to create powerful new stories for kids, fans and families globally.”
