Peppa Pig Set to Take Over Asia
Entertainment One has recently announced a slate of new broadcast and licensing agreements for its hit preschool property Peppa Pig, which includes forays into the Asian market, particularly Korea, this year. The company has also assigned a new dedicated territory manager, Daniela Flower, who has been tasked to bolster brand presence in the region.
Produced by Astley Baker Davies, the Peppa Pig cartoon will start airing new episodes on Korea’s Educational Broadcast System (EBS) this month, with licensing agent Cocoban jumping on board in order to represent the franchise in the country. The first line of Peppa Pig merch will be launching in Q4, ahead of Christmas.
The deals with EBS and Cocoban were brokered by eOne’s newly appointed territory manager for Asia, Daniela Flower, who will oversee broadcast and licensing across all regions, excluding Japan, for eOne’s portfolio of entertainment properties. Based in Hong Kong, Flower was integral to sealing broadcast deals for Peppa Pig in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Thailand last year and has a proven track record of breaking brands into international markets.
