At the recent Anime Expo, Sunrise announced that Daisuki.net will be streaming three popular anime series, namely One Piece, Dragon Ball Z, and Gundam ZZ. There’s no denying that One Piece and Dragon Ball Z are already popular franchises all over the world in one way or another (with their anime, videogames, and merchandise finding a lot of success even in the west), but this marks the first time Gundam ZZ will be offered in North America.
Gundam ZZ was the third series in the Gundam franchise, and is a direct follow up to Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. The series follows an all new cast, but is broadcast immediately after Zeta since it was originally meant to serve as the second season of said show. The show manages to tie up a major plotline from the previous series, and has a lighter tone when compared to its predecessor’s more melodramatic bent. However, the second half of the series returns to the more somber tone fans expected from the series.
