Pixar Releases First Image from Toy Story Short, Small Fry
Pixar has recently released the first still from the new Toy Story short, entitled Small Fry. The teaser image shows Woody talking to what seems like a small version of Buzz Lightyear.
The Small Fry short feature will be shown during the screening of The Muppets (scheduled for theatrical release on Nov. 23). Written and directed by Pixar veteran Angus McLane, the short follows Buzz Lightyear as he accidentally trades places with a small Buzz Lightyear toy from a fast food restaurant.
““It’s like the Prince and the Pauper tale for toys,” says writer/director Angus MacLane in a recent USA Today report. “Except one of them happens to be 3 inches tall. “These toys’ existence is about being really popular before the meal and then being totally forgotten about and sometimes they don’t even get played with.” The helmer says the film’s message is simple. It’s all about remembering the little people. “You just have to give these guys a little bit of love.
The original voicecast will return to lend their voices, so you will still recognize the likes of Tim Allen, tom Hanks, John Ratzenberger, and Joan Cusack as the voices behind the main cast. Teddy Newton joins their ranks as the voice of the Mini-Buzz toy.
