Planeta Junior Signs Deal with Studio 100 for Tashi
During the recent MIPCOM 2013, leading European children’s media distributor Planeta Junior has recently signed a licensing agreement with Studio 100 Media GmbH for the new animated series titled Tashi (52 x 12).
The deal will give Planeta Junior exclusive TV, home entertainment, on demand, merchandising, and licensing rights (outside of games, theme parks, music, and stage shows) for the series applicable to the Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, and Cyprus markets.
Tashi is a hybrid CG and 2D animated series targeted at 6 to 11 year old kids, featuring mystical, mythical, and enigmatic action elements. The series was based on the hit series of Australian children’s books by Barbara and Anna Fienberg, which have sold over a million copies in more than 20 countries worldwide.
“We have partnered with Planeta for many years now and are delighted to continue this deep rooted, successful and invaluable relationship. Planeta is the perfect partner to extend our reach into Europe and to introduce this mythical adventure series to audiences in the region,” says Patrick Elmendorff, Managing Director of Studio 100 Media.
