It can’t be denied that the success of Seth MacFarlane’s recent live action/CG buddy comedy TED can be attributed to the titular cute, foul-mouthed living teddy bear. And it’s not surprising if a lot of people now want their very own Teds, and they’re in luck. Because according to The Hollywood Reporter, Media Rights Capital and Universal have partnered in order to produce a line of talking Ted plush toys scheduled for launch this fall.
The Ted plush toys will come in several sizes, namely 8-inch ($14), 16-inch ($34.99) and 24-inch ($59.99) versions. All versions will have 10 lines voiced by MacFarlane himself, including the line “You know what I’d like to do to her? Something I call a ‘Dirty Fozzie.’”, which means this is probably not an ideal toy for a preschooler.
Licensing partner Striker Entertainment confirms that the toy is not targeted towards kids, and will be sold through young adult-targeted retailers such as Hot Topic, FYE, and Urban Outfitters.
