Postman Pat: The Movie Scheduled For May 24, 2013 Release
Everybody’s favorite postman will be making his CG animated big screen debut on May 24, 2013 courtesy of Icon Film Distribution, Lionsgate UK, Classic Media and RGH Entertainment, with the release of Postman Pat: The Movie. The film will debut in 3-D Stereoscopic format in cinemas across the UK, and will feature the voices of Stephen Mangan as Postman Pat, supported by Rupert Grint (of Harry Potter) and David Tennant (of Doctor Who and Harry Potter).
Postman Pat: The Movie is an offshoot of the British stop-motion animated children’s television series first produced by Woodland Animations. The Postman Pat TV series follows the adventures of Pat Clifton, who is a postman in the fictional village of Greendale. Postman Pat: The Movie, on the other hand, will use CG animation instead of stop motion, and will follow Pat as he comes face to face with the temptations of money, status, and a shiny new suit when he enters a national TV talent show that threatens to tear him away from his hometown and his loved ones.
Postman Pat: The Movie is currently in production, with RGH’s Robert Anich and Miles Horst and Classic Media’s Ceri Barnes and Annika Bluhm as producers, while RGH Entertainment’s Randa Ayoubi and David Corbett and Classic Media’s Eric Ellenbogen and Doug Schwalbe serve as executive producers.
