It seems that Professor Layton is not content with his massive success on the Nintendo DS, as the level-5 puzzle game series will soon hit the small screens with a direct-to-DVD anime movie spin-off entitled Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva. In case you’re not familiar with the Nintendo DS game, the Professor Layton series stars Professor Layton, a true English gentleman who is not only an accomplished archaeologist, but also one of the world’s greatest detectives. In “The Eternal Diva”, we find the super sleuth being interrupted from one of his exciting adventures by a letter from a former student, Janice Quatlane, who is now a famous opera singer.

Janice wants Professor Layton to attend her performance at the legendary Crown Petone Opera House as one of her special guests. In the meantime, a spate of disappearances has occurred all over the streets of London, with two young girls being the most recent victims. Of course, Professor Layton finds out that the recent string of abductions has connections to the opera house, so he and his loyal assistant Luke must now attend Janice Quatlane’s performance on official business – solving puzzles and the mystery of Eternal Life.

The DVD features both English subs and dubs, and will be sold under the MSRP of $19.97 U.S. / $19.98 CAN.
