LeapFrog Entertainment has recently inked a partnership deal with Putumayo Kids in order to bring Putumayo’s music to Leapfrog’s multimedia platforms. The music from Putumayo Kids is now made available via Leapfrog’s LeapFrog App Center on the LeapPad1, and will also be available on the newly launched LeapPad2 and Leapstergs.
The Putumayo Kids division was created in 2002, and has received honours from the Parents’ Choice Awards as well as from the Parenting Publications Association, growing to be one of the most popular brands and franchises related to kids entertainment. The company claims to be committed to helping communities in the countries via the profit their music and shows make, which are then donated to non-profit organizations such as Oxfam, Mercy Corps, make a Wish, and Amnesty International.
The partnership with LeapFrog marks the first time the Putumayo Kids’ albums will be made available through digital channels. It will also provide LeapFrog with the exclusive digital distribution rights all through 2012.
