Quicksilver to Appear in X-Men Sequel, According to Bryan Singer
X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer recently announced on his Twitter account that American Horror Story star Even Peters will be playing Quicksilver in his upcoming sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past. The news is generating a lot of buzz among fans lately, mainly because Joss Whedon has already revealed that the next Avengers movie will include mutant siblings Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch.
The news is interesting because X-Men: Days of Future Past is a Fox movie, while Avengers is a Disney/Marvel one (the three big studios that have movie rights to major Marvel properties right now are Fox, Sony, and Disney/Marvel). Fans are currently wondering on how Fox and Marvel can reconcile the two different versions of Quicksilver.
It turns out that Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are odd cases as far as licensing is concerned, mainly because they have been members of the Avengers, so Marvel can use them in an Avengers movie, but they are also mutants and children of Magneto so they can also be used by Fox in an X-men movie.
“They’re uh – It’s a little complicated, but if they want to use them in an X-Men movie they could, and if we want to use them in an Avengers movie we could. They’re unique,” says Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige last year.
