Italian company Rainbow are higlighting a number of properties at this year’s MIPTV trade show in Cannes. This includes the all-new series 44 Cats, as well as a new season of Winx Club.
Produced in collaboration with Antoniano Bologna, 44 Cats is an original CG animated series aimed at preschoolers. The show follows a band of felines calling themselves The Buffycats and the adventures of their individual members: Lampo, Milady, Pilou, and Polpetta. The first season contains 52 eleven minute episodes and marks the first collaboration between Rainbow’s Italian office and their Canadian Bardel animation studio.
The venerable Winx Club franchise reaches its 15th anniversary in 2019 and Rainbow is celebrating with a new season. Bloom and the rest of the girls will have 26 new episodes to add to their repertoire. Since debuting in 2004, the series has seen 182 episodes produced, four TV movies and three theatrical releases.
There’s more than a new season in store for the Winx Club. Netflix and Rainbow are currently developing a live-action adaptation.
Rainbow will also be showcasing Regal Academy and the live action series Maggie & Bianca Fashion Friends. MIPTV takes place in Cannes, France between April 9th through the 12th.
