Zodiak’s new TCG-based animated series Redakai: Conquer the Kairu is currently making waves across shores as it continues to pull solid TV ratings and toy sales figures across Europe, with UK and France at the forefront. Redakai: Conquer the Kairu debuted on Cartoon Network UK last February 2012, where the show managed to increase viewership amongst boys by 24% after its first month.
“We are very happy with how Redakai is performing on Cartoon Network in the UK and there is a strong level of belief and support for the property amongst our international channels,” says Cecilia Persson, Vice President of Acquisitions and Co-Productions, Turner Broadcasting EMEA. Cartoon Network is also the broadcaster in the US, Latin America and EMEA (excluding France and Spain).
Redakai was then launched on CITY in April, where it frontlines their weekday mornings. The CITY sponsorship was designed to help increase awareness of Redakai as well as support the Redakai Trading Card Game, which was launched in specialty toy shops over Easter.
“We have had extremely positive meetings with retailers at The Toymaster Show. Everyone was very excited about Redakai, its initial sales and the support we have given the brand since launch to make it a great success,” says acqueline Taylor-Foo, Sales Director at Spin Master UK. After strong early sales, A1 Comics is already “predicting Redakai to be one of the hottest toy properties of 2012. Kids are finding Redakai easy to pick up and love the 3D X-Drive cards” they said.
