Return of DuckTales, Ducktales 2, Talespin, and Other Classic Disney Games Announced
Nostalgic fans of Disney’s classic platforming games on the Nintendo Entertainment System rejoice, as Capcom has recently announced a new compilation called The Disney Afternoon Collection for current gen systems (PS4, Xbox One, and PC).
Consisting of six games, the collection will offer classic 80s and 90s games based on Disney’s cartoons at the time, such as Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers, Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers 2, DarkWing Duck, DuckTales, DuckTales 2, and TaleSpin. These games were notable for being fun games that also looked realy good for its time.
The games will support full 1080p resolution and a wide variety of filtering and video options, but don’t expect any HD remasters of the sprites – the aim is nostalgia so the games will look and play like the original versions. However, there’s a bunch of nifty bonus content such as new game modes (a Boss Rush mode!), an in-game museum, and in order to help both novices and old people like me who no longer have the reflexes of an 8-year old kid: a Rewind Feature.
The Disney Afternoon Collection will be available digitally in both Europe and North America for £15.99/ €19.99/ $19.99. The release is slated for April 18 on all platforms.
