Ricky Gervais digs Mole from The Wind in the Willows
Over 100 years ago, back in 1908, Kenneth Grahame published what would become a children’s classic, The Wind in the Willows. Perhaps best known through Disney’s adaptation and subsequent amusement park adventure, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, the story follows Mole, Ratty, Toad, and Badger, as the group spends their time getting into trouble, getting lost, and “simply messing about in boats.” Now, RG Entertainment is hoping to take the latest spin on the adventures through a live-action, CG, and animatronic film, set to hit theaters in 2012. Ricky Gervais has recently signed on to the project, lending his voice to Mole, who will likely be animated by Weta, the company Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings epic.
