DreamWorks has just released a new trailer for their new CG animated 3D epic adventure film entitled Rise of the Guardians (formerly titled The Guardians of Childhood, and not to be confused with Legend of The Guardians). Distributed by Paramount Pictures, the film has been described as a “contemporary fairytale based on existing fairy tale characters”.
Rise of the Guardians follows a group of heroes from various childhood stories, such as Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and Jack Frost, who band together to prevent Pitch the Nightmare King from sending the plunging the world into eternal darkness. The film features a star-studded cast that includes Chris Pine, Isla Fisher, Hugh Jackman, Alec Baldwin, and Jude Law.
The film was originally scheduled for release on November 2, 2012, but Dreamworks has pushed the release date to November 21, in order to avoid competition with Pixar’s Monsters University (which in turn had been pushed to November 2 in order to avoid competition with Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn part 2).
