Rurouni Kenshin One-Shot Will Focus on Shishio Makoto

Just in time for August’s Rurouni Kenshin – The Kyoto Fire and September’s The Legend’s Conclusion live action adaptations, Nobuhiro Watsuki will be revisiting his iconic manga series for a one-shot that delves into the backstory of the villain Shishio Makoto. The one-shot is planned for the August issue of Jump Square, which goes on sale in July.

The Shishio Makoto will explore the villain’s “survival of the fittest” philosophy, particularly during his days as a hitokiri from the Bakumatsu conflict. The announcement came from the June issue of Jump Square, which went on sale a couple of days ago.
