Season 2 of Voltron: Legendary Defender Announced
Netflix and DreamWorks Animation have announced that the second season of Voltron: Legendary Defender will be launched exclusively on January 20, 2017 on the streaming service. The new season will pick up after the first season’s cliffhanger ending, with the paladins scattered across the universe as a result of a dangerous clash with Haggar, Zarkon and the Galra Empire. The heroes will encounter new challenges as they bring mighty Voltron back together and team up to take down Zarkon.
Fans packed the New York Comic Con for the Voltron panel, which featured a full episode screening from the second season – The Depths, which finds Lance and Hunk stranded on an underwater planet. The episode also exposes that Pidge might be a hoarder.
Present to answer questions from fans were voice actors Bex Taylor-Klaus (Pidge) and Jeremy Shada (Lance), executive producer Joaquim Dos Santos, story editor Tim Hedrick and co-executive producer Lauren Montgomery. They reveal details about the second season including that list of guest stars that include Weird Al Yankovic.
