Second and Third Season of Nature Cat to Premiere on 2017


According to Spiffy Pictures, PBS KIDS has given the greenlight to the 2nd and 3rd seasons of Nature Cat. The educational animated series comprises 35 new 30-minute episodes and 2 original 1-hour long specials, with the second season launching in fall 2017.

Since its launch in November 2015, the series has reached almost 34 million TV viewers and with the average of 13.5 million streams each month across all PBS KIDS digital platforms. Additionally, Nature Cat was nominated for TCA and Daytime Emmy Awards this year.

Created by Spiffy Pictures, Nature Cat was co-produced by Spiffy and WTTW Chicago. The series follows Nature Cat and his friends as they embark on adventurous voyage of discovery in the great outdoors. The voice cast includes SNL veterans Kate Mckinnon, Taran Killam, Bobby Moynihan, Kenan Thompson and Chris Parnell, and actress Kate Micucci.

The Van Eekeren Family and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting provided the major funding and the brand licensing was handled by founders of Land O’Frost within the U.S. The consumer products outside the U.S. was managed by 9 Story Media Group as well international distribution rights, having licenced the series to VT (Sweden), Family CHRGD (Canada), SIC (Portugal), TG4 (Ireland), Nick Jr. (Italy) via Funwood Media, Canal Panda (Spain), Hop TV (Israel) and E Junior (Middle East).
