Secret Life of Pets to Get a Sequel

Illumination Entertainment’s The Secret Life of Pets is currently enjoying a very successful global box office cume to the tune of more than $400 million, which is why it’s not surprising that a sequel has been confirmed for next year, with Deadline.com reporting a July 13, 2018 release date.

Illumination’s CEO and founder Chris Meledandri, along with longtime collaborator Janet Healy will be producing the follow up. Director Chris Renaud will also be returning to the sequel, with co-writer Brian Lynch in tow. No further details have been provided, and the movie is only being referred to as The Secret Life of Pets 2 (which, for all we know, could be the exact title.)
