Shonen Ashibe Gets Third Television Anime Adaptation

After 23 years, the comedy manga series of Hiromi Morishita Shonen Ashibe is all set for its third TV anime adaptation on NHK Educational TV for an April 2016 premiere. Its first episode on TV was aired for 37 episodes (111 vignettes) starting April to December 1991, and the 2nd followed for 25 episodes (75 vignettes) starting October 1992 to March 1993.

Shonen Ashibe follows the everyday life of Goma-chan, a baby spotted seal and Ashibe Ahiya, the first grade elementary school owner. Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump serialized the comedy show for 270 episodes from the year 1988 to 1994, and then it was compiled in 8 tankobon volumes.

Bridge (Mitsudomoe, Nobunagun) produced the new Shonen Ashibe Go! Go! Goma-chan. It will debut on April 5 at 18:45 (JST).
