As part of their 50th anniversary celebrations, Shonen Jump has released a FREE manga creation app called JUMP Paint on various platforms, including Windows, iOS, and Android. The app is designed to make it easier for budding mangakas to learn how to create their own manga, and will include pens, tones, fonts (including official Shonen Jump fonts) free of charge.
What’s even better is that the Shonen Jump editorial department will be sending out weekly lessons that will further help users improve their craft, as well as samples of manga that hey can read via the app. Lastly, users will be able to submit their works to Shonen Jump Rookie and get a chance to land a contract with Shonen Jump.
To herald the launch of JUMP Paint, Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto will be chairing the very first Jump Universal Manga Award. Users from around the world can enter for a chance at 1 million yen in prize money and publication in Shonen Jump. Entries are due January 5, 2018.
