Shout! Factory Acquires Rights to A Monster in Paris

Leading entertainment distributor Shout! Factory has recently acquired the US distribution rights to Bibo Bergeron’s CG animated feature A monster in Paris from producer EuropaCorp. The acquisition was jointly-announced by Shout! Factory’s foudners Richard Foos, Bob Emmer, and Garson Foos, as well as EuropaCorp International’s sales manager Cecile Fouche.

The deal grants Shout! rights to home entertainment, digital distribution, and broadcast for cross-platform releases in the US. The company is planning a strategic rollout on various platforms and media by early 2013.

A Monster in Paris focuses on a wacky inventor living in turn of the century Paris along with his camera-crazy best friend and pet monkey. They accidentally created a mutant flea named Franc after knocking over a mysterious potion in a mad scientist’s lab, with the resulting monster needing protection from the bumbling trio and an enchanting nightclub singer as it is hunted by fearful citizens and an egotistical police commissioner.
