The Simpsons Creator Gets a New Netflix Series, Disenchantment
According to recent reports, streaming service Netflix has just ordered twenty episodes of a new adult animated comedy fantasy from Matt Groening, who is known for being the creator of The Simpsons. Titled “Disenchantment,” the new Netflix series focuses on the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland, and will follow the hilarious, bumbling misadventures of the young and alcoholic princess Bean, her elf companion Elfo, and her personal demon Luci.
“Ultimately,” says Groening, “Disenchantment will be about life and death, love and sex, and how to keep laughing in a world full of suffering and idiots, despite what the elders and wizards and other jerks tell you.”
The series will feature the oddball trio getting into all sorts of trouble while encountering an equally diverse cast of fantasy creatures ranging from ogres, to trolls, harpies, and everything in between. Disenchantment is said to boast of an impressive voice cast that includes the likes of Abbi Jacobson (“Bean”), Nat Faxon (“Elfo”) and Eric Andre (“Luci”), along with John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, David Herman, Matt Berry, Jeny Batten, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding, and Lucy Montgomery.
Disenchantment will premiere on Netflix in 2018 via a ten episode first season.
