Snack World sets sights on Australia

Level-5 abby’s new CG-animated action-comedy The Snack World will be heading to Cartoon Network in Australia. The anime adventure, from the creators of Yo-Kai Watch and Inazuma Eleven, will air weekends at 4:30PM beginning November 2nd.

Welcome to Snack World, the hyper, casual, fantasy universe with princesses, dragons, genies, smartphones, and convenience stores! Explore this strange but super fun world with our hero Chup and his comedic companions. Embarking on adventures with many twists and turns our mismatched crew use weapons called Jara and recruit monsters to turn them into Snacks to defeat evil!

Animated by OLM (Pokemon, Beyblade Burst, Yo-Kai Watch), the 50 x 22-minute adventure series first debuted on the Japanese TX Network in April 2017. The English-language version, which stars Laurie Hymes as Chup and Erica Schroeder as Mayonna, premiered at Anime Expo in Los Angeles last July. The dub’s television debut occurred earlier this month on the Southeast Asian Cartoon Network channels.

As is typical with Level-5 productions, Snack World isn’t just an animated series. The franchise includes manga, collectables and of course, video games. There’s no word on when (or if) these will be making the journey internationally, though there’s ample reason to believe the Nintendo Switch version of the latter isn’t too far off.
