Snapper Productions Signed Deal with Abbey Home For Q Poottle 5

Abbey Home Media has made a deal with Snapper Productions for the U.K. home entertainment rights to Q Pootle 5, an animated preschool series. Abbey Home Media will release Pootle the Explorer’s first DVD on April 11. It features 7 episodes from the British Animation Award-nominated series which broadcasts in the U.K. on CBeebies.

Q Pootle 5 is based on the best-selling books by Nick Butterworth, children’s author and illustrator. It follows the adventures of an adorable little alien and his friends as they deal with everyday problems of the final frontier. The series has enjoyed a remarkable response from the viewers in the U.K. and abroad since its debut in 2013. Animated by Blue Zoo, produced by Snapper and distributed internationally by ZDF Enterprises, Q Pootle 5 has sold to more than 70 countries.

Aside from the new deal, the series has also gained several licensing partners in the U.K. including Immediate Media for spots in Toybox and CBeebies Weekly magazines, Walker Books for global TV tie-in publishing, Jumbo for puzzles and games, Egmont for standalone magazines, C&M Licensing for underwear, nightwear, onesies and socks, VMC for accessories and Rainbow Productions for character costumes.
