Sony to Develop New Nativity Flick, The Lamb

According to a recent report by The Wrap, Sony Pictures Animation is currently busy with the development of a new animed feature film titled The Lamb, which is going to be a new take on Christianity’s Nativity tale. The film is being produced by Franklin Entertainment, which is owned by motivational speaker and preacher DeVon Franklin (Franklin has gained national attention after being featured in Oprah’s talk show).

The Lamb is based on a pitch by Tom Sheridan and is designed to find the right balance between heartfelt sentiment and family-friendly comedy. The tale is notable for featuring an all-animal cast, instead of a straightforward adaptation of the tale, which means we can at least expect that the film will play around with the source material, without crossing borders that would make the treatment offensive to the religion.
