Sony Releases New Trailer for Smurfs: The Lost Village

Sony Pictures Animation has just released a brand new magical trailer for the upcoming film Smurfs: The Lost Village. This new Smurfs film is notable for being fully CG animated, as opposed to the hybrid live action and CG used in the past films. Smurfs: The Lost Village has been slated for an April 7, 2017 release and is said to delve into the inner workings of the Lost Village, while also offering some new surprises as the loveable blue creatures make their way to the Forbidden Forest.

Directed by Kelly Asbury (Gnomeo & Juliet, Shrek 2), the film features the voices of Demi Lovato (Smurfette), Rainn Wilson (Gargamel), Joe Manganiello (Hefty Smurf), Jack McBrayer (Clumsy Smurf), Danny Pudi (Brainy Smurf) and Mandy Patinkin (Papa Smurf). Based on the characters and works of Peyo, Smurfs: The Lost Village is produced by Jordan Kerner and Mary Ellen Bauder Andrews.

The official synopsis:

In this fully animated, all-new take on the Smurfs, a mysterious map sets Smurfette and her best friends Brainy, Clumsy and Hefty on an exciting and thrilling race through the Forbidden Forest filled with magical creatures to find a mysterious lost village before the evil wizard Gargamel does. Embarking on a rollercoaster journey full of action and danger, the Smurfs are on a course that leads to the discovery of the biggest secret in Smurf history!
