Space Heroes Universe cartoon wins 2012 Pixel Awards
Indie studio Bubble Gum Interactive’s hit new animated cartoon series Space Heroes Universe managed to snag a win in the animation category of the 2012 Pixel awards, via the episode “Villainy has a New Name.”
The Space Heroes Universe win was especially impressive considering that the competitors came from big-name brands like Disney, Nintendo, and Square Enix, each one having budgets and manpower that would easily dwarf Bubble Gum Interactive’s.
The shows that Space Heroes Universe went up against include Walt Disney’s Jake and the Never Land Pirates, Square-Enix’s Final Fantasy and Nintendo’s Pokemon.
“Storytelling is at the heart of everything we do.” said Phil Mason, Bubble Gum Interactive CEO “Our global fan base of kids and families have told us they love the pilot cartoon so we’re excited to announce that we’re already in production on episode 2, with more to follow during 2013!”
Space Heroes Universe focuses on the adventures of Space Heroes Ace, Kira, Professor Q, and their friends as they try to rescue the life-giving glows. Their current antagonist consist of the “I-wish-I-was-more-evil” Lord Shadowbot and his long suffering sidekicks who plan to steal all the glows and bring darkness to the galaxy.
The cartoon is freely available via the official Space Heroes Youtube Channel, as a free “Pocket Toons” download from Google Play and coming soon to the Apple iTunes store.
