In support of the international release of LAIKA’s new 3D Stop-motion animated feature film Paranorman, Universal Pictures has teamed up with game developer Spil Games in order to bring the ParaNorman franchise to a wide variety of kid and family-friendly online social gaming platforms.
The partnership was brokered by TED@MediaCom, with the promotional campaign scheduled to begin this week in the UK, where ParaNorman will be released on September 14, 2012.
Spil Games’ fully integrated campaign for the movie utilises advertising and editorial content on the websites of all three of their UK social gaming platforms, namely GirlsGoGames.co.uk, Agame.com, and Games.co.uk. It will include game hubs, new movie trailers, avatars, and brand new games.
Spil Games’ ParaNorman campaign will encourage kids and families to check out a branded microsite that features tons of media related to the upcoming movie, as well as exclusive ParaNorman avatar for Spil Games, along with a new zombie game category and downloadable content for kids.
Since release dates for ParaNorman are staggered across Europe, Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region, the campaign will run until January 2013, when the movie opens in Australia and New Zealand.
