American Greetings Properties has recently inked a deal with Disney for the Canadian broadcast rights of Strawberry Shotcake’s Berry Bitty Adventures. The agreement will see the second season of the show broadcast in Canada, in both English and French-language Disney Junior channels.
Strawberry Shortcake’s Berry Bitty Adventures, a relaunch of the 2009 series, is produced by Moonscoop and follows the adventures of the titular character and her friends as they live their carefree lives in Berry Bitty City. The Strawberry Shortcake character was originally licensed for use in greeting cards, but the character was so popular that it soon received its own line of dolls, posters, and other merchandise, majority of which are targeted towards young girls and preteen women.
Season two of Strawberry Shortcake’s Berry Bitty Adventures has already begun airing in English on Disney Junior, but the French-language Disney Junior will only start broadcasting the show beginning February 2012.
